Kathie earned her BS in Nursing from Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, WV and her MA in Administration from Nova University, FL. She has been the executive director of Wheeling Health Right since 1992. Prior to WHR she was the Nursing Coordinator and Assistant Director at Florence Crittenton Home and Services for 12 years.
Kathie is a graduate of Leadership Wheeling, Class of 1990; past president of Soroptimist International of Wheeling; and past charter president of Kiwanis Morning Club. She is a member of the Human Rights Committee at St. John’s Home; past president and current treasurer of West Virginia Association of Free Clinics; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Association of Free Clinics. Kathie is an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church where she serves as an Elder. She has been the recipient of the WV State Journal’s Healthcare Heroes Award and IN Wheeling Magazine has honored her as a Guardian Angel of Wheeling. Kathie also recently was awarded as one of the YWCA Tribute to Women 2019 award winners.
Kathie resides in Wheeling with her husband Richard “Butch” Brown of 43 years; they have two sons and four grandchildren.
